New Year´s Eve in Chile, Valparaíso
Chileans celebrate New Year´s Eve with family and friends. There is a tradition of eating 12 grapes - symbolizing the 12 months of the year.
The beaches of Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Concon are considered to be one of the best spots in the world for new year celebrations and fireworks display.
Over one million visitors come every year to watch the impressive fireworks - streets are crowded and hotels raise their prices up to 10 times to the normal rate.
The Campesano team will also join the New Year´s celebration in Valparaíso. But at least one person has always to stay and guard the ranch. On New Year`s Eve, thieves are busy because the houses are empty. Fireworks are absolutely forbidden on the countryside - due to the very high risk of bushfires.

Das Campesano-Team wird auch an der Silvesterfeier in Valparaíso teilnehmen. Mindestens eine Person aber muss immer bleiben und die Ranch bewachen. Am Silvesterabend ist Hochsaison der Diebe, weil die Häuser leer sind. Feuerwerk ist auf dem Land absolut verboten - wegen des extrem hohen Buschfeuerrisikos.

El equipo de Campesano también participa a la celebración del Año Nuevo en Valparaíso. Pero por lo menos una persona siempre tiene que quedarse y cuidar el rancho.
En la noche de Año Nuevo, los ladrones están ocupados porque las casas están vacías. Los fuegos artificiales están absolutamente prohibidos en el campo - debido al alto riesgo de incendios forestales.
